We need 600,000 more dwellings for Melbourne’s population explosion

STRONG population growth in Victoria has forced the Government to expand Melbourne’s urban growth boundary, which is raising concerns over the lack of infrastructure being delivered. Premier John Brumby yesterday launched the Victoria in Future 2008 strategy and he said Melbourne’s population will pass the original Melbourne 2030 population projections before 2020 and is likely to reach five million before 2030.
